Support at Home (SaH)

The Support at Home Program was introduced by the Australian Government on 1 November 2025, replacing the Home Care Packages Program and the Short-term Restorative Care Programme. It offers a simplified, coordinated, and flexible approach to care, helping you live independently at home for longer.

An aged care assessment* will determine your eligibility for ongoing or short-term Support at Home services. The Australian Government provides classified funding based on your assessed needs to cover the services you receive under the Support at Home Program, including:

  • Eight funding classifications for ongoing services.
  • Three short-term pathways for assistive technology, home modifications, restorative care, and end-of-life care.
  • Four transitioned Home Care Package (HCP) classifications for those who have transitioned to Support at Home.

Support at Home participants may be required to make a contribution.
